Information about Paris

Paris, the “City of Enlightenment”, is a source of surprise and fascination to visitors who discover, by strolling its many streets, the different facets and treasures of the French capital.

Paris is resolutely looking towards tomorrow’s technological, social and cultural changes.
Paris, however, has always been associated with history. Everything in Paris remind us of a rich and stormy past. Paris lost its roman name “ Lutecia ” and took its actual name in 360.
It became the capital of France under the reign of King Clovis in the year 508.
Paris was always fulfilled its role as the capital in historical, cultural, architectural and artistic ventures. Paris has been the source of emerging ideas, trends, fashions... Paris is symbolized by the Seine river and its bridges, by a wonderful architectural heritage, thoroughfares and famous squares. All these features contribute to the magic of the city and to making Paris an unforgettable place.

THE PARIS PALAIS DES CONGRES
The Palais des Congrès was inaugurated in 1974, and was built to provide the city with a modern infrastructure for the organization of events : meetings, shows, work seminars. Its ideal location between the Champs Elysées and la Défense creates the link between the future with high technology, and the past with prestigious and historical events.
The Palais des Congrès is a 6-story building, and contains 5,000 m2 of exhibition halls, 19 Congress rooms, business suites and office spaces. It also has restaurants, shops, movie theaters, a discotheque, and a parking space. The last floor consists of a 1,850 m2 kitchen area and reception rooms that can host up to 4,000 people.
The greatest feature, however, is the “Grand Auditorium”, which is unique in Europe. It is a gigantic 3,800 seat amphitheater. The seats are equipped with a six-language simultaneous translation system. It was designed to host all kinds of concerts, and therefore benefits from perfect acoustics with no echoing effect. On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, and on the eve of the 21st century, the Palais des Congrès has inaugured a rejuvenating process. Its outside walls took on a more dynamic, technical and futuristic aspect, while its overall hosting capacity increased to 41,000 m2.
Its capacity, high technology, relaxation areas and its ideal geographical location have made the Palais des Congrès the perfect place to host the International Jubilee Congress.
